America's 2000: Best of the Best

America’s 2000: Best of the Best

America’s 2000: Best of the Best is an art exhibit that features artists whose pieces were selected by a juror as Best of Show in the annual America’s 2000: All Media and Paper Works competitions over the past decade. The art exhibit includes 33 artworks by 17 artists from 16 states in the U.S.

Artists created artworks using a variety of mediums – sculpture, painting, cast paper, printmaking and photography.

“It really is a top-notch show because the people who were invited to be in it were the best of a pretty selective group to start with,” said Avis Veikley, director of the Northwest Art Center at Minot State University in Minot. “To pull together all of these accomplished artists, it is a special show.”

Each year, the Northwest Art Center hosts a national juried competition – the America’s 2000. The competition is advertised nationally, and people submit their works to the Northwest Art Center for a juror to judge the pieces. The artist whose work is named Best of Show earns a solo exhibition the following year and an invitation to the America’s 2000: Best of the Best art exhibit.
